Breast Augmentation
This procedure benefits women who are bothered by their original breast size or who have suffered changes in shape and size from weight loss or having children. Breast augmentation can also help when one breast is noticeably smaller than the other. Breast augmentation is performed by placing an implant either above or below the chest muscle to increase the size of the breast. In most cases this can be done through a very small incision to minimize scars. This operation is usually performed as an outpatient under general anesthesia. The cost of breast augmentation with saline implants is about $7000 to $7500, which includes anesthesia and facility fees. Silicone implants typically cost $1000 more.
Breast Lift
This procedure is appropriate for women who are happy with the size of their breasts but would like to regain a more youthful appearance. A breast lift, or mastopexy, involves redesigning the breast by removing excess skin and repositioning the breast to a higher, more attractive position with minimal change in the overall breast size. There are several techniques available, all of which allow wearing regular clothing without revealing surgical scars. For breasts that are small in size and still droopy, a combination of breast augmentation and lift can be performed. A consultation with one of the plastic surgeons will help determine which operation is right for you. Cost ranges from $6500 to $8500, which includes anesthesia and facility fees.
Breast Reduction
Breast reduction is appropriate for women with large, pendulous breasts who may feel self-conscious about their size and appearance or experience back pain, shoulder pain, skin irritation or limitation of physical activity. Several techniques can be used, all of which have the goal of preserving the nipple and areola while leaving scars that can be hidden from view by regular clothing. Some of the risks associated with this operation are bleeding, infection, asymmetry, nipple or skin loss, altered nipple sensation or ability to breast feed. Using careful technique and expertise we strive to minimize these risks. Cost ranges from $7000 to $9000, which includes anesthesia and facility fees.
Breast Reconstruction
The most common indication for breast reconstruction is their absence due to cancer treatment surgery or a birth defect. Several methods are available depending on the patient’s desires, body type, further cancer treatment plans, and need for a speedy recovery. Tissue borrowed from other parts of the body can be used as well as implants to help restore the female silhouette. A consultation is necessary to determine which options are feasible and preferable for a particular person. In general, the total costs of this procedure are covered by medical insurance.
